The Strawbale Cottage Workshops
"A sustainable economy and sustainable ecology go hand in hand"

Mission Statement:
The Strawbale Cottage Workshops hopes to educate and empower folks interested in the process of working and building with Strawbale. We are committed to sharing and expanding the experience and techniques of the construction of Strawbale, natural building, as well as the promotion of its growing use. Our intention is to build ecologically friendly, structurally sound, naturally efficient homes, using a minimum amount of embodied energy, thus resulting in a home that is comfortable, artistic and modern while striving to minimize the monthly and ever increasing utility bills. We hope to serve as a catalyst to foster the growth of creativity and innovation through sustainable, environmentally friendly means.

These workshops will be hosted at the Way Back Inn featuring 70 acres of peace and quite just 9 miles from Salida Colorado, and just minutes from the Arkansas River!  There is ample room for camping and we will have 4-queen size beds available in the cabin on a first come first serve basis for $25.00 per night.
